We are excited to provide this information and hope to continually improve the content. We have twenty-nine total officers and staff serving a population of approximately 10,000 residents. The city is proud to be a progressive community that maintains a small town feel. The Highland community has a strong heritage that provides a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
The police department is committed to serving the citizens with a community policing concept while maintaining the latest law enforcement strategies and innovations to deter crime. “Community Commitment” is our motto and the basis for our vision.
I joined the Highland as police chief in early 2009 after retiring from the Collinsville, IL. Police Department. I have served as a patrolman, auto theft investigator, use of force instructor, sergeant, and assistant chief. I have been married since 1992 and have two children. Our family is excited to be in Highland and enjoy all it has to offer.
