The Water Distribution / Sewer Collection Department has six full-time employees. Various duties include water main repair, hydrant flushing, hydrant testing, new water services, sanitary sewer main jetting, and manhole maintenance.
The department is responsible for 67 miles of water main and 42 miles of sanitary sewer.
2010 Spring Hydrant Flushing
The Water Distribution division of the Public Works Department will be flushing fire hydrants during the month of April. The flushing is done as part of routine maintenance.
When the hydrants in your area are being flushed you may experience low water pressure and possible water discoloration. Please wait until the crews have finished in your area then if dirty water persists please allow your water to run. If after a short while the water doesn't clear, please call the Public Works Department 654-6823, and we will send someone to you home to check.
