Poplar St. Widening and Resurfacing Phase 2
Submitted by Clint Conrad
The proposed improvement to Poplar Street will consist of widening, where necessary, the existing pavement and resurfacing the roadway to construct a 32-foot wide pavement. The pavement will service two 12-foot vehicular lanes and two 4-foot bicycle lanes. The improvements include a roundabout at the intersection of Poplar Street and Broadway. Scheduled improvements include concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk on one side and storm sewer.
The contractor has begun pouring curb. This will continue into next week.
The city thanks all the residents affected by this project for their patience. The city would also like to remind all the residents avoid the use of Lemon Street when possible and use the marked detour route when traveling through Highland.

Detour 2-Poplar St-Close Poplar St. from Poplar Dr. to Broadway. Poplar St. traffic will be detoured onto Lindenthal Ave., Washington St., Broadway, Cypress Street and 6th Street.
