Welcome to the Building and Zoning Division Website.
The Building and Zoning Department is now a division of the Department of Community Development. We are committed to the citizens of Highland, ensuring that the quality of construction and a high standard of living is maintained. This is accomplished through many different avenues, such as inspections and plan reviews, enforcement of the model building codes, the zoning code, the land development code, property maintenance code and the floodplain ordinance.
THE INTERACTIVE BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATION PROGRAM HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY DISABLED FOR MAINTENANCE. WE ARE SORRY FOR THE IINCONVENIENCE! We now have INTERACTIVE BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATIONS available on-line. If a building permit has been issued, then an inspection of the work performed under the permit is required. Construction Waste Dumpsters must be ordered through City Hall 618 654-9891.
